First Awareness Meeting in Sudan for the agricultural community

In the framework of the WATDEV project, and with the contribution of its institutional partners in Sudan, the Water Research Centre (WRC) and the Association for Strengthening Agricultural Research in Eastern and Central Africa (ASARECA), are organizing the first awareness meeting on 17th June 2023 in the Hydraulics Research Centre (HRC), at Wad Madani.

Despite the period of atrocities and uncertainties in Sudan due to the civil war which broke out on 15 April, Sudanese partners and community strive to build a sustainable future and WATDEV partnership is united in supporting them in their efforts.

The meeting in Wad Madani is mainly addressed to local farmers, smallholders, and their families and will be also attended by representatives of public authorities, associations, and private sector involved in water management and agriculture in the Gezira Irrigation Scheme, which is the study area in Sudan in the framework of the WATDEV project.
